Cracked Screen? Here’s What You Should (and Shouldn’t) Do!

Mar 4, 2025

We’ve all been there — one accidental drop and your phone screen looks like a spider web. But before you panic (or keep using it like that), here’s what you need to know.

First, don’t ignore it. Even if the touch still works, cracks expose your phone to dust, moisture, and internal damage. Over time, the display can deteriorate or completely stop responding. Plus, a cracked screen can cause finger injuries or ghost touches.

Do not try fixing it yourself with cheap DIY kits. These often damage the LCD further or break the touch sensors, especially on newer iPhones and AMOLED screens.

What should you do? Check if it’s just the glass or if the display underneath is also damaged. At Reepaired, we inspect both:
1. If only the glass is changed: You have an option of getting only the glass changed, this is cheaper but leaves the screen less durable.
2. If the display has lines/not working/cracks - In this case we dont have any other option other than replacing the entire screen.

3. If the display as Green line/white lines, in case of iphone 13 pro and pro max as well as 14 pro and pro max, these can be repaired without replacement. This is done via a shouldering tool. This is a good option to get as it keeps originality and is cost efficient
